My name is Timothy Alston, and I am an environmental engineer from Maryland, but currently reside in Chicago, IL. I have been working in the environmental/water industry for about 3 years where I have provided environmental field and site investigations to determine contamination and pollution concerns in different communities. Now, I am a process control engineer at a water utility outside Chicago, where I help treat wastewater to avoid environmental and public health issues from our waterways.

I do research to create new methods for making computer chips faster, smarter, and more efficient for your electronic devices. My favorite projects are related to computer chips that mimic the function of your brain to support Artificial Intelligence, these are called Neuromorphic computers.
