Event Details
This program explores a time in American History where dance shows were the rage. The earliest roots of the iconic television show began in Philadelphia and eventually found its way to California. The presentation highlights dancers who went from being high school kids to skyrocketing to the covers of teen magazines. Dick Clark, the host of the show welcomed some of the most famous musical acts across the globe on American Bandstand.
The presenter, Jo Ann Tufo, is a historian who lived and worked in the Philadelphia area for decades. She brings her knowledge and personal stories of the dancers to life in this lively presentation
